Bio
Leonor do Fado is the stage identity of Lisbon-based singer Leonor Seabra, performing with Portuguese-guitar player Álvaro Matias and classical guitarist Teresa Mendonça. The trio keeps the voice close and the accompaniment responsive, leaving room for a phrase to pause, turn and settle. European Portuguese, distinctive Portuguese-guitar replies and carefully judged dynamics define the sound. Black, ivory and oxblood belong to textured rooms rather than grand spectacle. Songs explore absence, pride and the ordinary geography of Lisbon, with emotional precision taking the place of exaggerated tragedy.
